Prime Minister DrMa'een Abdulmalik received here on Tuesday the UN Under-Secretary General and Emergency Relief Coordinator of UN for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lowcock.

The meeting intended to discuss the UN's efforts to mitigate the terrible humanitarian crisis that Houthis' coup and war have produced.

Government's efforts to manage economic hardship and reinstate basic services were also touched upon.

DrMa'een detailed Lowcock on the government's efforts aimed to manage economic hardship and improve the value of national currency.

Coordination between the Yemeni government and the UN about delivering relief and humanitarian aids was elaborately discussed.

The Prime Ministerblamed Houthi militia for blocking distribution of relief and humanitarian aids, briefing Lowcock on the militia's detention of more than 210 trucks laden with humanitarian aids and its continuous interventions in the humanitarian actions.

Lowcock praised the government's steps aimed to alleviate the Yemeni peoples' suffering.

Foreign Minister Khaled Alyemany, Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Hafez Meayad were in attendance.
