Prime Minister DrMa'een Abdulmalik stated that government has been working on strategic power generate plants that will help producing long-term solutions to electricity problems.

Speaking at press conference held on Saturday in the temporary capital Aden, Ma'een cited two major strategic electricity power plants: Petromasila Aden New Power Plant with 260 MWA total capacity and another 100 MGW Power Station funded by the United Arab Emirates.

He also pointed to the renewal of the Saudi $60 million per month fuels grant aimed to support electricity sector. " We have good news about the renewal of Saudi fuels grant to support electricity sector in Yemen. The grant duration was three months. This will be very helpful to improve electricity service" said Ma'een.

The Prime Minister talked about electricity long-standing problems; noting that yesterday "Friday" Aden was entirely enlightened for the first time since 8 years at the time of Ramdan breakfast meal.
