The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the Arab education ministries launched the ISESCO's extraordinary conference in Mecca of Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
Yemen, represented by its Minister of Education Abdullah Lamlas, participated in the event.
A new director for the ISESCO, Salem al-Maalek, was elected to succeed Abdulaziz Altuweijiri who has been in the position since 1991.
