Launch of IOM office will promote partnership with local authority, says Marib Dep. Governor

The Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah has hailed the opening of a branch office of the International Organization for Migration in Marib as "a step that will promote partnership between the local authority and the organization in the areas of humanitarian work and mutual addressing of the needs of IDPs and migrants.

Miftah made the remarks in a meeting with the Director of the IOM office here today. Miftah and the IOM office director discussed the mission of the office and the services it may offer to the beneficiaries previously ignored by the headquarters of the UN organizations in Sana'a, the Houthi-held capital.

They also discussed the prospects of partnership between the IOM and the local authorities in humanitarian fields.
