Yemen's Sutan al-Barakani received a cable of congratulations from the speaker of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh on his election to the speaker position of the country's parliament.
Yemeni MPs unanimously elected Al-Barakani as the speaker of the parliament in an extraordinary session held in Yemen's eastern city of Sayoon earlier this month.
