The United States has said the resumption of parliament's sessions in Yemen is an important step taken by the government for restoring the state's institutions and resuming progress towards implementing the National Dialogue Conference's outcomes and peaceful power transfer process.
The State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said in a release issued on Saturday:" Reactivating Yemeni Parliament will play a key role towards political and national reconciliation to enable the government of the Republic of Yemen and the Political parties to better focus on meeting Yemeni people's needs."
"We fully support parliamentarians and urge them to commit to honesty, transparency, accountability and respecting the rule of law while performing their duties," she added.
