Governors of Lahj, Abyan, al-Dhalea governorates swear-in before President al-Alimi
The newly appointed governors of the governorates of Lahj Murad al-Halimi, of Abyan Dr. Mukhtar al-Rabbash and of al-Dhale Maj. General Ahmed al-Qubba took the constitutional oath today, Saturday, before His Excellency President Dr. Rashad a-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).

FM calls on Iran to stop supporting Houthis, destabilizing the region

Foreign Minister Khaled Alyemany called on Iran to stop supporting the Houthi coupist militia in Yemen with money and arms and destabilizing the security of the region.

Addressing the 46th session of the OIC's Council of Foreign Ministers in Abu Dhabi, he called on the Persian state to abide by the principles of the OIC and principles of international law.

Recounting the conflict in the country and its humanitarian ramifications, He said the government went to the Stockholm consultations with the militia last December, signed an agreement and, along the way, was optimistic that the suffering of the Yemeni people would come to an end.

"But it has been more than two and a half months and the militia still exercise schemes and delay tactics to avoid implementing that agreement."

Regarding the humanitarian developments, he thanked all the countries that have pledged assistance to as part of the 2019 humanitarian response plan for Yemen especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. The pledges from the three countries account for 50% of the $2.6 billion raised during the donors conference in Geneva on Tuesday.
