Arab Parliament Speaker: Yemen represents a strategic depth for its Arab brethren

The speaker of the Arab Parliament, Meshaal al-Salmi, said that Yemen represents a strategic depth for its Arab brethren under the principle of one shared destiny for the Arab states.

In a statement today, he said that the Arab Parliament is following on the developments in Yemen especially the humanitarian suffering of the people in the territories controlled by the Iranian affiliated Houthi militia.

He appreciated the Arab Coalition's efforts to serve the Yemeni people and provide all forms of political, economic, military and humanitarian aid to it with the aim of restoring its state institutions and preserving its independence and territorial integrity.

He praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait for their humanitarian aid pledges announced in yesterday's door conference for Yemen in Geneva.
