Yemen, US discuss army capacity-building

Minister of Defense General Lieutenant Mohammad al-Maqdashi discussed with the US Defense Attaché in Yemen Colonel Brad Gandy means of boosting military cooperation between the two friendly countries and capacity-building of the Yemeni Army.

The two parties also discussed efforts of fighting terrorism.

Minister of Defense valued US support to Yemen's legality under President Hadi and praised strong relationship between the two countries.

He appreciated US support to efforts of fighting terrorism and training Yemeni security cadre for promoting their performance.

Gandy handed over a condolence cable on killing the Chairman of Intelligence Authority General Mohammad Tammah and a number of soldiers in al-Anad attack.

He pointed out that these operations diminish political process and peace talks in Yemen.
