Director of Public Work and Roads Office in Mareb Engineer Abdulwadood al-Mathhaji has confirmed that 60 percent of the first phase of Rehabilitating Safer-Ghawbran Highway Project has been accomplished.
The 40-KM long highway project costs 2.5 billion.
Talking to Saba, al-Mathhaji expected that the first phase of the project will be finished on June 2019, confirming that the work is underway to rehabilitate the strategic road, which has been fully destroyed and causes terrible traffic accidents.
He pointed out that Prime Minister Mo'eenAbdulmalik has authorized a team from the ministry of public work to make field visit to conduct a study for carrying out reconstructing the whole road which includes Ghawbran- al-Abr Highway linking the ground outlets with Saudi Arabia and Oman.
The highway has not witnessed any maintenance work for the past seven years, he added.
Earlier, al-Mathhaji inspected the process of carrying out the first phase of the project being carried out by Saba Company for Constructions.
