Socotra Governor confirms organizing fishery cooperatives

Governor of Socotra Archipelago RamziMahrous has confirmed significance of organizing fishery cooperatives and activating their role for providing services to the fishermen.

In his meeting with the leaders of the Fishery Union on Monday, Mahrous discussed with them issues associated with fishery sector.

Mahrous pointed to keenness and care of the local authority with fishery sector as promising sector providing the province and the state with financial resources.

He added that the local authority seeks to evaluate the cooperatives to define the best ones of them.

The leaders of the fishery union reviewed a number of suggestions concerning improving the cooperatives and serving fishermen.
