Coast Guard Chief discusses joint security cooperation with Djibouti
The Chairman of the Coast Guard Authority Maj. General Khalid al-Qamali held talks today, Wednesday, with his Djiboutian counterpart Colonel Wa'is Omar on joint cooperation in maritime security, combat organized crime, prevent all forms of smuggling and protect navigation in the western Gulf of Aden, Bab el-Mandeb and southern Red Sea regions.

Fishery Wealth Minister inspects process of issuing licenses to fishing ship

MUKALLA-SABA
Minister of Fishery Wealth Fahd Kafyen paid an inspection visit on Tuesday to Coast Guard Forces' camp in Hadhramout located here and inspected boats of monitoring and marine control and inspection docked on Mukalla Port.

Kafayen has been briefed by the Commander of Coast Guard Forces' branch in Hadhramout Colonel Hani al-Tamimi on readiness of the forces, especially maritime security entrusted with controlling and protecting Yemeni waters on fighting illegal fishing and arresting violators.

Minister Kafayen presided over a meeting for commanders of the Authority of Coast Guard,leaders of Public Authority for Fishing in the Arab Sea and the Head of Fishery Cooperative Union.

They discussed process of issuing licenses and numbering ships and boats of traditional fishing in the Arab Sea Region.
The meeting parties confirmed that they have made great accomplishment in this domain.

Minister Kafayen confirmed that issuing licenses and numbering the boats will help tightening security and control fishery activities in addition to increasing production within quality standers and protecting fishery wealth, fishermen and coast's visitors.
