Fatah : Militia's prevent WFP delegation visit to Taiz a violation of all International Laws
[23/12/2018 06:19]

ADEN-SABA
Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeeb Fatah condemned Houthi putschist militia for preventing a delegation of World Food Program (WFP) of the UN from visiting Taiz province. The WFP delegation field trip to Taiz was scheduled for today (Sunday).

The militiamen blocked the delegation as they attempted to enter the besieged city through eastern entrance in Al-Howban.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) the Minister described the militia's act as a flagrant violation of Stockholm's understandings." It is one more violation added to the militia's record in dealing with humanitarian situation", Fatah said.

He noted that the militia have blocked many shipments of relief and humanitarian aids to enter the city , impeded three high-profile UN delegations' trips to the province, most prominent of all former Assistant of the UN Secretary General Stefanie Obrien.

Fatah stated that an over three-year long besiege imposed by the militia on almost all entrances of the city should have invoked a moral and responsible reaction by International Community toward Taiz and its continuing ordeal.

The Minister praised the WFP's humanitarian efforts all over the Yemeni provinces and its approval of a strategy to support relief operation in Yemen for 2019-2020 with total amount $3billion and 300 milions.
