Former Iraqi VP praises Yemeni govt's response to UN peace efforts

The former Vice President of Iraq, President of the National Trend party, Iyad Allawi, praised the Yemeni government's response to the United Nations efforts to broker peace between it (the government) and the Houthi rebels.
In a meeting with Yemen's Ambassador to Iraq Al Khader Marmash, on Saturday Allawi affirmed his sympathy with the Yemeni people who are enduring hardships as a result of the Houthi coup of 2014 and the war they launched later.
Mermash affirmed the Yemeni state's inclination for peace in accordance with the three terms of reference: the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
