The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Yemen, Arab Interior Minister Council discuss security cooperation

Deputy Minister of Interior General Ahmad al-Walidi discussed with the Secretary General of Arab Interior Ministers Council Dr. Mohammad Koman on Saturday security cooperation between Yemen and the council and improving security forces in Yemen.

The meeting dealt with means of strengthening security efforts in Yemen with their counterparts Arab countries and cooperation between the general secretariat of the council and Yemen, as well as supporting Yemeni security apparatus for promoting their tasks.

On the sidelines of the Second Conference to Arab Police and Security Commanders concluded here on Thursday, Al-Walidi acquainted Moman on the security situation in Yemen and necessary needs required by security apparatus for promoting security performance and implementing tasks entrusted with.

For his part, Koman confirmed that the general secretariat of the council follows up the security situation in Yemen and current conditions the security apparatuses go through and challenges facing them, confirming that the General Secretariat will seek hard to provide different support to the Yemeni ministry of interior for improving performance of security apparatuses.

The conference recommended formation of Arab team for monitoring terrorist threats and analyzing terrorist operations and providing suggestions on dealing with them.
