Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Hussein ba-Salama and his Cuban Counterpart José Ramón Saborido singed on Saturday the cooperation protocol 2018-2020 in fields of scientific research, exchanging visits and providing medical and other scholarships to Yemeni students.
Minister ba-Salama reviewed situation developments in Yemen and damaging infrastructure, including universities and educational institutions and transferring schools into military barricades over the war triggered by Iran-backed Houthi militia on the states and the people.
He re-affirmed support of the political leadership to efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen and keenness on ending the war and realizing permanent and just peace on the bases of the three internationally agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative and its executive mechanism, outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.
For his part, the Cuban minister expressed his country's readiness on strengthening historical relations and improving cooperation with Yemen in different fields.
He confirmed his country's support to the government of Yemen.
