Taiz healthcare centers need govt support, says dep. minister

Deputy Minister of Public Health Abdullah Dahan said the hospitals and all healthcare centers in Taiz need support from the government to get the health system that collapsed as a result of the Houthi war back on track.

In a meeting with the local government of Taiz at the conclusion of an inspection tour in the city besieged by the Houthi rebel militia for three years and half, Dahan said epidemics have proliferated hospital services have deteriorated as a result of the unjust siege.

He said that his visit to Taiz was meant to assess the situation of healthcare facilities which, as a result of the Houthi militia’s continuous bombardment, suffered great damage and were overwhelmed with large numbers of people injured by shells and sickened by epidemics.
