Minister of Information Muamer Al-Iryani called on the International Community (IC) to criminalize and condemn Houthi putschist militia's usage of landmines in residential areas.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Al-Iryani said Houthi militia planted thousands of landmines in the regions it had to fled after the government managed to drive the militiamen out. Hundreds of thousands of landmines were randomly planted everywhere including main streets, government's facilities, houses and farms.

He noted that seven civilians killed and dozens more wounded last Monday by landmines explosions in the town of Attohyatah, southern Hodiedah, the Houthi militia planted upon controlling the area.

The minister stated that the total number of landmines planted randomly, without maps by Houthis is far exceeding any others since the Second World War (WWII).

Al-Iryani blamed the UN and IC for keeping on silence about Houthi militia's crimes.

He praised the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in demining through the Saudi Demining Project in Yemen (Masam).
