Houthi racist militia works on distorting Yemeni cultural heritage, says minister

Minister of Culture Marwan Dammaj blamed Houthi putschist militia for promoting divisive and sectarian oriented culture and working on distorting Yemen's history and cultural heritage.

Addressing 21st Round of Arab Ministers of Culture held in Cairo, Dammaj described Iran-allied Houthi militia as a racist and terrorist movement.

"Iran-backed Houthi militia has proved racist, sectarian and terrorist movement. It has been using terrorist approaches, working on distorting Yemeni cultural heritage, intent on eliminating its diversity and imposing one single form and antagonizing Arab culture and neighboring Arab mood", said Dammaj.

The Minister added" Houthi militia has been involved in destroying and smuggling the Yemeni antiquities and manuscripts with aim of erasing the country's cultural legacy dated back over five thousands year".
