FM stresses importance of supporting UN envoy for Yemen

Foreign Minister Khalid Alyemany has stressed the importance of the offering support by the countries sponsoring political settlement in Yemen to the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.
In a meeting with the UK Ambassador to Yemen Michael Aron, Alyemany said that preparations are being made for holding peace talks between the government and the Houthi rebels in Geneva on Thursday. He said that starting with and succeeding in the Trust Building measures will pave the way for resuming peace talks and hopefully reaching peace.
He said that the Yemeni people are looking forward to a political solution that alleviates their suffering and restores theirlost services and normal life back.
Aron confirmed the interest of his government in making the coming consultations a success in the leadup to to resume negotiations and reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen.
