Transferring into the second phase of relief process discussed

Minister of Local Administration, the Head of the Supreme Relief Committee (SRC)AbdulraqeebFath discussed on Tuesday with representatives of the international organizations financing relief and development projects.

The meeting dealt with plan of transferring into the second phase of the relief process associated with projects of enhancing stability in Yemen in general and in liberated provinces in particular as the first stage in addition to setting up an integrated relief plan for facing emergency cases in the western coast and alleviating suffering of the people over the war triggered by Houthi rebel militia.

The meeting dealt with making coordination mechanism between the ministry of local administration and the SRC from one hand and with agencies of international humanitarian support for securing provision of the humanitarian services and gradual transfer from the first phase of the emergency relief process into the second phase.

Fath provided multi-phase proposal to the projects of the second phase, hoping from participants discussion and active contribution in implementing them. He called upon international organizations to implement the principle of decentralization of the relief activities via setting up a plan for establishing five relief centers covering all provinces of Yemen.

He also called the international organizations to play their humanitarian role for supporting efforts of the government aiming for alleviating suffering of Yemeni society over current conditions and providing them with humanitarian basic needs and supporting projects enabling woman and projects eliminating unemployment and providing sources of income to youth.

Minister Fath confirmed implementing Presidential directives of providing humanitarian aid to all provinces of Yemen even those under Houthis and help of these organizations in solving obstacles facing them while providing their help to needy and war-affected people.

The UN office representative Taher Ibrahim showed readiness of the international bodies for providing all aspects of support to Yemeni people, confirming necessity of unifying efforts for filling the gap of necessary aid to affected people.

The representatives of the international organizations reviewed projects they have carried out and mechanisms they followed in providing therapist and food services to war-affected people and solving reasons of eruption epidemics and interventions in inflicted areas.
