RIYADH-SABA
The official spokesman of the Arab Coalition Colonel Turki Al-Maliki said the Saudi air defenses have intercepted a ballistic missile launched by the Iran-affiliated Houthi militia toward the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.
In a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, al-Maliki said that at 3:09 am the defenses detected the Houthi rebels' launch of a ballistic missile from their stronghold of Saada towards the Saudi territories.
He said that "this hostile action by the Iran affiliate terrorist militia of Houthis proves the continuing involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the Houthi armed militia with quality capabilities in a clear and explicit defiance to violate United Nations resolutions 2216 and 2231 with a view to threatening the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the regional and international security." He said that launching ballistic missiles toward densely populated cities and villages is contrary to the international humanitarian law.
