Al-Kamal: Houthi Zakat Authority a new way to loot funds
[01/06/2018 07:51]
ADEN-SABA
Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, the Deputy Chairperson of the Higher Committee for Relief Aid Dr. Ebtihaj al-Kamal, has denounced the Houthi establishment of the General Authority for Zakat "in a bid to replace the Social Welfare Fund" and disrupt the Fund's work in the provinces controlled by the rebels.

In a press statement, al-Kamal told Saba that "this illegal measure represents a worrying development in the militia's course of gratuitous moves to levy funds for their wild war against the Yemenis."

She said the created authority will be an additional burden on the people and increase their suffering.

The rebels' move and preparation to discuss the Khomos (fifth of income) tax in their self-proclaimed "House of

Representatives" in Sana'a reflects the haughtiness of this militia as it seeks to impose its mantle of authority with disdain to the laws and constitutions in force for more than half a century."
