RIYADH -SABA
Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr discussed with the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Yemen PAK Woongchu the bilateral relations, the latest developments in Yemen and the Korean humanitarian support to the country.
In a meeting in Riyadh on Saturday, the two officials discussed the UN endeavor to mediate a political solution to put down the war that Houthi rebels unleashed in the country.
Bin-Daghr asserted that "peace comes by respecting the Yemeni people's will and the UN resolutions and by disallowing a minority to impose its will against the absolute Yemeni majority with the power of guns and regional (Iranian) support.
He affirmed that the government has always been in favor of any political solution that brings the Yemeni people's misery to an end.
He said that the government is laying emphasis on the three terms of reference for peace (GCC Initiative, National Dialogue outcomes and UN resolutions) in order to guarantee a fair and comprehensive peace that does not pave the road for future conflicts.
He thanked the Saudi-led Arab Coalition for intervening, upon President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's request, to halt the Iranian agenda which wanted to turn Yemen into a destabilizing factor for the whole region and a threat to international shipping.
Woongchu, on his part, affirmed the commitment of his country to supporting the government and maintaining humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
He unveiled an urgent aid of 17,000 tons of rice to Yemen saying the shipment is already in its way to the seaport of Aden.
