Yemeni-Saudi delegation visits Austrian Parliament

Joint Yemeni- Saudi delegation met with the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Austrian Parliament chaired by Andreas Shedder.

The delegation included Minister of Information Muamer Al-Iryani, Minister of Public Works and Highways Dr Ma'een Abdulmalik and Saudi ambassador to our country Mohammed Sa'eed Al-Jaber.

The delegation made a presentation about the situations in Yemen, underway efforts aiming to push peace process and improve humanitarian situation which seriously deteriorated because of the Iran-backed Houthi militia coup.

The Information Minister briefed the Austrian MPs on the political transitional process that Houthi militia's coup has disrupted and triggered a protracted civil." Iran-backed Houthi militia has killed Yemenis' dream of establishing a federal democratic Yemen", said Al-Iryani.

The Info. Minister blamed the Iran-backed Houthi militia for the ongoing devastating civil war and catastrophic humanitarian crisis. He said:" President Abdu-Rabbu Mansour Hadi had been very keen on peace, a national unity was formed included Houthis, however the militia went on carrying out its own agenda backed by Iran, took up weapons against the State, caused an extremely humanitarian ordeal".

Al-Iryani touched upon the violations committed by Houthi militia. He noted that the Houthi militia have committed 2250 violations included killing outside law, abduction, forced disappearances, arbitrary arrest, torture , detonating houses, etc.

The Saudi ambassador reiterated the objectives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that aimed to re-establish security and stability in Yemen and maintain the national security of the two neighboring countries that shared history, culture and mutual interests.
