First batch of coast guards forces graduated eventually after attending training courses funded by the US and held in the Republic of African Seychelles.
The coast guards personnel received professional training provided by professional trainers of the UN. The training courses designed to rehabilitate the capacities of the Yemeni coast guards forces to be capable to contribute toward countering smuggling activities and deter any attempts may aim to threaten the regional territorial waters and international marine passageways.
The graduation of this batch came under the cooperation agreements between our country and the US, as a result of the cooperation with Yemen's Friends Group.
The graduation ceremony attended by Commander of the Navy Forces and Coastal Defense Maj. General Abdullah Salim Annakhae and military attaché in the Yemeni embassy to the Kingdom of Suadi Arabia, Brigadier Yahya Al-Waeel, Director of Controlling Drugs and Smuggling in the Republic of Seychelles, senior representative of American defense to Yemen, the UN official, Saudi military attaché to our country and British deputy military attaché to our country.
