The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. Vice President Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Ali Mohssen Saleh has asserted that the ongoing war has been fought by the government backed by Arab Coalition against the Iran-backed Houthi militia is a defensive battle imposed by the Houthi coup.

The Vice President said :" It is a defensive war the legitimate government has to fight against a coup d'état carried out the Iran-backed Houthi militia that took up weapons against the Yemeni peoples' will and national, regional and international consensus".

(Lt Gen) Mohssen's statement came as he paid an inspection visit Thursday to the Reception Military Camp.

The Vice President talks to the troops, praising their high-spirit, urging more training.
