RIYADH-SABA
The Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces on Monday intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis from Saadah in north Yemen in the direction of civilian populated areas in the Saudi city of Jazan, said the spokesman for the Saudi-led Arab Coalition supporting Yemen’s government.
In a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, Col. Turki Al-Maliki said that the missiles were deliberately fired to target residential areas, and fragments of the destroyed missiles sprinkled over neighborhoods but fortunately no casualties have been reported to the moment of preparing this statement.
"This hostile act by the Iran-backed rebel militia proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the militia with quality capabilities in a clear defiance of the UN resolution no. 2216 and resolution no. 2231 and a violation of the International Humanitarian Law."
