Fatah urges international organizations to relieve the population of Medi

Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—called on the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen to issue urgent instructions to the UN's agencies operate in relief to rush up to relieve the people in need in the district of Medi, which has recently been wrested back from the Houthi putschist militia.

He suggested an immediate integrated relief plan to offer the residents the urgently needed foods and shelter aids.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah called on the national and international organizations and donor institutions in the GCC's member states that always keep abreast with humanitarian relief operations in Yemen to work out humanitarian plans aiming to relieve the population of the district that is really a disaster area as a result of the Houthi militia's atrocities against the people and their own property.

The Minister described recapturing the district of Medi as vitally important because of Medi's harbor which the militia uses for military purposes, targeting relief ships and obstructing humanitarian efforts access.
