President al-Alimi: Dealing with Houthis as Authority of Fait Accompli Means Legitimizing Divine Right, Racism, Weapons Outside State
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

Bin-Mubarak, US MP discuss Yemen's latest developments
[22/03/2018 06:52]

WASHINGTON-SABA
Yemen's Ambassador to the United States Ahmad bin-Mubarak discussed on Thursday with the Head of Foreign Relations Committee at the US Congress Edward Royce latest developments in Yemen.

The meeting dealt with US Congress concern of following up Yemen's developments and rejection of Iranian interferences.

Bin-Mubarak informed Royce on Iranian breaches of UN and international resolutions and proceeding with smuggling weapons to Houthis and different support for prolonging the war in Yemen, pointing out that Houthis- backed by Iran- have caused humanitarian catastrophe and reject surrender to national will and UN resolutions for ending the war and implementing outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference.

He reviewed developments of political situations and efforts exerted for resuming peace talks, confirming Yemeni government's abiding by peace, which is based on the three agreed upon references internationally; the GCC Initiative, outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.
He confirmed Houthi stubbornness and their rejection of peace initiatives is the key problem facing peace process in Yemen and Iran support to the rebel militia is another second major obstacle for realizing it.

He praised US support to Yemen's legality and their strong support to President Hadi's government, partnership in facing fighting terrorism and contribution of relief and humanitarian activities in Yemen.

For his part, Royce renewed his country's support to legality and continuation of providing relief to Yemeni people.

He showed great understanding of the nature of Iranian interferences in Yemen and strong US keenness of playing a role for facing its agendas.
