Fatah welcomes new UN Humanitarian Coordinator's arrival in Yemen

Minister of Local Administration the chairman of the Supreme Committee for Relief Aid Abduraqib Fatah has welcomed the arrival of the UN's newly appointed Humanitarian Coordinator Lise Grande in Yemen. Grande is succeeding Jamie McGoldrick.

In a statement to Saba, Fatah called on the new Coordinator to work with all UN organizations toward decentralizing relief aid from Houthi-held areas to all Yemen's provinces to secure an efficient use of donated funds and effective implementation of the relief aid goal.

He affirmed the government's readiness to support the Coordinator's mission and the government's commitment to the principles of transparency, impartiality and responsibility in its contribution to relief activities.

He called on the Coordinator to work to remove and condemn all the Houthis'habitually made impedimentsto humanitarian supply efforts.
