FOA's agricultural projects discussed in Aden

Yemen's Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Aminba-Qader discussed with the ministry's leadership a number of issues associated with Food and Agriculture Organization's activities in supporting agricultural sector and farmers in a number of provinces.

The officials confirmed coordination with agricultural offices in the provinces for implementing the the projects and fixing faults in lists of targeted projects in the districts and means of buying seeds from provinces the project is implemented and improving them.

Ba-Qader confirmed significance of holding regular meetings for discussing activities of the international donor organizations and bodies, praising efforts of FAO and Social Development Fund for implementing projects helping improve situations of farmers and agriculture in general.

FAO's Representative reviewed a number of projects being implemented in a number of provinces represented in livelihood projects being implemented in Abyan and Shabwa with the cost of USD 12 million.

He also reviewed the project of prequalifying small farmers and enhancing agricultural production implemented with cooperation of SDF in Lahj, Abyan and Shabwa and project of prequalifying small farmers and enhancing capability of steadfastness across Yemeni countryside.
