Yemen's Ambassador to China Mohammad al-Mikhlafi discussed on Friday with Deputy Director of West Asian and North African Affairs of Chinese Foreign Ministry Xiao Junzheng latest developments in Yemeni crisis.
Ambassador al-Mikhlafi reviewed recent incidents in Aden triggered by militias of the so-called the Southern Transitional Council and deploying tanks and military vehicles in populated quarters and attacked the state's institutions in the transitional capital of Aden and led to killing a number of Presidential Protection Guards while performing their duties and killed and horrified citizens.
"What this militia tried to do in its coup attempt was hindering the activities of the legitimized government," said al-Mikhlafi.
"These acts against the constitutional legitimacy violates the UN Resolution 2216 and threaten the regional security and diminish efforts of regaining the state and ending Houthi coup, as well as contradict Yemen's unity, stability ..and violates the national consensus stated by the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolutions," he added.
He confirmed that the legitimized government will continue its work in the transitional capital of Aden for protecting the interest of the Yemeni people and their unity and stability under President Hadi in accordance with the three references and objectives of the Saudi-led Coalition.
For his part, the Chinese official has confirmed his country' support to the legal government under President Hadi, noting that China believes in peaceful solutions to the Yemeni crisis on the bases of the three references.
