Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women
The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Moreover, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Salem Jaasous was appointed Minister of Local Administration, becoming the first woman to take on this ministry since the establishment of the republic.

Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr said the country has a big victory ahead that will fully evolve with the liberation of Taiz soon. In a meeting with the Arab Coalition Forces' commander Brig. Mohammed al-Hasani and other officers in the temporary capital Aden on Saturday, bin-Daghr said: "We have managed to liberate 85% of the country's territoriesand today we have a big victory that will fully form with liberation of Taiz province from Iran's Houthi militia soon."

He said that the "historical decision taken by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to launch the OperationDecisive Storm to end the Houthi Iranian coup (…)unified the Arabs and undermined Iran's ambitions of expansion in the region."

He said that the government has exerted efforts to fight al-Qaeda and normalize the situation in the liberated provinces by re-supplying services and public salaries.
