Fatah: Houthiprevention relief organizations from work violates int'l law

The Chairman of the Supreme Relief Aid Committee, Abdurraqeeb Fatahcondemned the Houthi militia's prevention of 36 international relief organizations from operating in the provinces under its control.

He called on the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen and the international community to exert all pressure on the militia to lift its hand from interfering in the work of relief organizations and to allow the passage of relief aid to the needy across Yemen. Fatah called on the Coordinator to report to the UN Security Council the violations which militiacommits against humanitarian relief work.

"The coup militia is full responsible for the deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the provinces under their control," he said.

He also called on relief organizations to adhere to the principle of decentralization of relief work, adopted by the Relief Committee,to ensure the delivery ofaid to all provinces.
