An authorized government source repudiated the circulated reports regarding the issuance of government directives to close Aden International Airport to air traffic, affirming that the government has not issued any directives to close the airport, nor there is any such decision issued by the leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy.

Syo'un international airport operates above 900 flights in 2017

Syo'un international airport made remarkable progress in 2017. The total number of flights from and to the airport counted 908 flights in 2016.

Manager of Syo'un international airport Eng. Hassan Farj Al-Qathiri told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) the travelers movement was almost redoubled compared with the same period of 2016. "Total number of the passengers came up to 13 thousands and 39", said Al-Qathiri.

The airport operated international flights from Syo'un to Oman, Jeddah, Cairo and Nairobi. Some 82 thousands and 248 kg of the goods transported through the airport in 2017. "Security and technical services have remarkably improved so that the airport's workers could do their job properly", said Hassan Al-Qathiri
