CAIRO-SABA
The Arab Parliament has renewed its support to the Government of Yemen under President Hadi and support to the country's stability, security, unity and sovereignty.
It pointed to Iran-backed Houthi rebel militia's crimes against humanity and its threat to regional and international security and peace.
In its session held on Thursday here on Yemen's crisis and threat of Houthi militia to neighboring countries and international security, the parliament said it closely follows up political, economic and social situations in the Republic of Yemen.
" Firing ballistic rockets by the militia on Islamic shrines and Saudi Capital Riyadh and the declared intentions on threatening neighboring Arab cities and capitals, definitely the United Arab Emirates is a dangerous threat to Arab national security and stark provocation to feelings of millions of Muslims in the world," said the Parliament.
These actions are considered a prove on Houthi militia rejection and its sponsoring Iranian regime to the will of the international community and its resolutions issued by the UN Security Council, including resolutions 2216 and 2231, added the Parliament.
The parliament said that the recent developments in Yemen, especially after killing former president Ali Abdullah Saleh by Houthi militia suggest complicating the Yemeni situation after increasing numbers of crimes and inhuman violations by Houthi militia against Yemeni people, members of the parliament and leaders of the General People Congress, media people and peacefully protesters.
The Arab Parliament indicated that Houthi repeated attacks by ballistic rockets, air to air missiles, remote bombed boats and Iranian made unmanned jets -trafficked through relief outlets- pose a threat to international navigation and trade at Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea, as well as Suez channel, in a stark violation to the international law and traditions.
The Parliament reconfirmed support to the Saudi- led Arab Coalition's forces for regaining legitimacy in Yemen and protecting Yemeni people.
The Parliament demanded the international community, especially the UN Security Council and General Assembly to shoulder their responsibility towards violations by Iranian Regime against Yemen's national sovereignty, trafficking different types of weapons to Houthi militia for destabilizing the region.
It demanded the Security Council to exert pressure on Houthi militia to accept peaceful solution via implementing the three peace references; the GCC Initiative, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Resolution 2216.
It also called the UN and its specialized organizations to take measures against Houthi militias for using government buildings, schools and hospitals for storing weapons.
