Yemen's Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi has briefed the Swedish Foreign Ministry's envoy for the MENA region Peter Semenpi on the bloody scene in Sana'a as the Houthi rebels continue to physically eliminate oppositionists who called for dialogue with the government and quitting rebellion.
Al-Mekhlafi said that since the former President Ali Saleh swapped sides early this month the Iran-aligned rebels assassinated him and began a campaign of assassinations, detentions, tortures, bombings of houses and myriad other terrorizing activities against those involved or suspected of supporting Saleh and the GPC party's change of loyalty to the government.
Hadi wished Sweden a successful tenure as a member of the UN Security Council and thanked Sweden for its leading role in the humanitarian response to the Yemen crisis.
