MANAMA-SABA
Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi has stressed that Yemen's battle is Arabs' fight and Yemeni peoples are ready to make sacrifices not only to defend Yemen's Arab identity and land but also to defend their own Arab nation, so Yemenis' Arab neighbors have a duty to do, they should provide Yemen with every necessary support to be capable to re-establish security and stability.. .this is important for the region's and world's security.
In a debate he made on the sidelines of Al-Manama Dialogue, the minister argued that if Iranian scheme is thwarted in Yemen, it will be foiled in the entire region… and the opposite is true." In case it succeeds in Yemen, it will be developed into a new phase and new cycle of conflict", said Al-Mikhlafi.
"In the wake of the assassination of former President Ali Saleh, the scene in Yemen will be different politically and militarily", said the foreign minister. He added that" After Saleh, the militia has lost political cover the General People Congress party used to provide, now legal government and international community have only a sectarian group affiliated to Iran".
The foreign minister confirmed that peace path is favored and the legal leadership and government will continue to seek for. " Peace path is better so our hands will always continued to be extended for peace that is based on the three references: GCC's Initiative, outcomes of National Dialogue and UN Security Council 2216", said the minister.
Al-Mikhlafi suggested that Iran's temporary objective is to prolong the war in Yemen.. It is an objective achieved by the Houthi-militias that seek to endless conflict in order to drain the Yemeni military and Saudi-led Coalition." Houthi-militia will never come to peace… they may come to dialogue only if they have been forced by military defeat, however they will do so to buy time", said the foreign mister.
