His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

VP informs Turkish Ambassador about rebels' intransigence

Vice President Lt. Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh has informed the Turkish Ambassador to Yemen Levent Eller about the Houthi rebel militias' intransigence in refusing political settlement and jeopardizing the security of Yemen and the region.

In a meeting they held in Riyadh on Monday, Ali Mohsen also pointed to the militias' threatening of international shipping to satisfy the Iranian ill ambitions.

Ali Mohsen said that the political leadership and government are keen on achieving peace as per the three internationally recognized terms of reference. .

The two officials condemned the Houthi firing of missiles toward the Saudi territories the latest of which was intercepted near Riyadh early this month.

Ali Mohsen indicated that the humanitarian situation is pretty hard as a result of the militia' confiscation of the salaries of public servicemen and the revenues of the state.

He hailed Turkey and all countries that offered assistance to Yemen and relaxed the rules for Yemeni nationals residing in them. He also hailed the outcomes of the inaugural meeting of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition Ministers of Defense Council held in Riyadh on Sunday.
