Yemen studies means of anti-terror cooperation with abroad

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi presided over on Tuesday a meeting for heads of political security and national security, passports and migration authority and other departments.

Attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Hussein Arab, the meeting tackled coordination between the ministry of foreign affairs and these bodies for easing measures of traveling of Yemeni citizens and granting them passports from internal and external bodies, as well as granting foreigners and foreign journalists entering visas.

The meeting also dealt with cooperation between Yemen and brotherly and friendly countries in fighting extremism and terrorism and exchanging information on extremists or foreign fighters who try utilize riots over Houthi-Saleh's coup.

The convening officials discussed ways of facing Iranian smuggling weapons into the Republic of Yemen via ground and marine outlets with help from smugglers who added smuggling weapons into their former activities of smuggling goods and human trafficking and cooperation with International Sanction Committee formed by the UN Security Council on Yemen to follow up implementation of the UN related resolutions, led by Resolution 2216.

Al-Mikhlafi stressed on cooperation with brothers in the Saudi-led Coalition and friendly countries for facing different security challenges and establishing coordinative mechanism between ministries of foreign affairs and interior and security apparatus and concerned Yemeni bodies for achieving these activities.

For his part, Arab confirmed that all security and police bureaus will double cooperation with ministry of foreign affairs in different fields and exchanging information and coordination with the Interpol for cracking down traveling crime, which does not only harm Yemen but also posing threat to the whole region.
