Oil minister informs OMV on preparations for its return to Yemen

Minister of Oil and Minerals has informed OMV's Senior Vice President MEA Hub Erwin Kröll on the arrangements the Yemeni Government's is making for the return of the Austrian company to operation in Yemen.

During his meeting with OMV officials in Vienna on Wednesday, Eng. Sayf Al-Shareef agreed with OMV on the establishment of a 25 MW power plant in Ataq, the provincial capital of Shabwa to cover the southeastern province's power needs.

The power generation capacity will be increasable to 50 MW.

The minister briefed OMV officials on the government's preparation for the return of all the energy exploration and production companies back to the country after re-normalization the security situation in the country.
