Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women

The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Campaign against infant polio launches in Hadhramout

The Dep. Governor of Hadhramout for the Wadi and Desert Districts AbdulhadiAtameemi has launched the national campaign for vaccination against infant polio which is being organized by the Ministry of Public Health.

The campaign is meant to target 88,998 children 17,019 of them are less than one year old, and 71,980 others are below five.

In addition to vaccination, the campaign includes a nutritional screening of 80,500 children between six months and five years old.

As many as 966 volunteers split into 18 teams are the ones who are conducting the campaign.
