Gov't reacted positively to peace efforts, FM says

The Yemeni government has reacted positively to all peace efforts made by the UN envoy, whereas the Iran-aligned coupists have faced these efforts with rejection and spurn, Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi told his Georgian counterpart MikheilJanelidze in a meeting in New York on Monday on the sideline of the UN General Assembly meeting.

Al-Mekhalfi cited the government's participation in in all the rounds of peace talks, the offering of concessions and the acceptance of the Envoy Ismail Ahmed's proposal to keep the Hodeidah seaport operational but under the management of a third party.

He said that the militias' rejection attitude demonstrates the lack of desire to end the hostilities on their side.

Al-Mikhlafi hailed the Georgian-Yemeni relations and thanked Georgia for supporting Yemen especially in the field of education.
