Yemen partakes in Arab meeting on water

The Republic of Yemen is participating in the Arab Ministerial Council's Ninth Round on Water has kicked of its activities in the Premises of the Arab League General Secretariat here on Thursday.

Under Iraq's presidency with participation of Arab Ministers of Water and Irrigation including a delegation of the Republic of Yemen chaired by Ahmad Agroum, the council discusses a number of topics led by Arab Water under the occupation on the light of the Arab Conference held on October 26-28 last year here in cooperation with Palestinian Authority.

It also discusses measures of implementing projects top listed in the Executive Strategic Plan for Arab Water Security and partnership between regional and international organizations and countries and their roles in speeding up implementation of these projects to make use of new chances available in the framework of Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.

Developments on linking between water, power and food sectors in Arab countries and preparations for International Forum on Water to be held in Brazil next year are being discussed.
