Security authorities arrest a terrorist cell in Ataq

Security authorities arrested on Tuesday a terror cell that was plotting to carry a series of assassinations of local authority and security leaders in Ataq, Shabwa.
The Director of Shabwa Police Department, Awadh al-Dahbool, said "the security authorities seized two persons but a third away after armed clashes with the group."
"The clashes ended up in the arrest of Mohammed Ahmad and Saddam He is accused of terror issues and on the security's wanted list," said al-Dahbool.
He said that the police seized the car in possession of the cell. It contained qunaitities of explosive and "Saudi plate numbers which they used as a cover-up as they crossed in checkpoints."
Al-Dahbool said one security officer was wounded in the clashes. "The cell was on an assignment to carry out assassinations of local authority and military leaders."
He thanked the security officers who busted the cells saying the quality operation conducted against them was the fruit of "precise intelligence and surveillance
