PM to Theresa May: Your assumption of PM position will promote UK pivotal role

Yemen's Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin-Daghr told Theresa May that her assumption of the position of UK prime minister will promote the UK's role in fighting terrorism and support peace, rights and freedoms.

In a cable of congratulations to May on her assumption of the PM role, bin-Daghr said he wishes her continued success and looks forward to her continued work to achieve global peace.

"I also seize this opportunity to convey to you the thanks and appreciations of the Yemeni political leadership and people for supporting the government represented by H.E Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi the president of the Republic.

And for your unlimited support toward completing the implementation of the GCC Initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the National Dialogue outcomes which the UK played a prime role in achieving them as well as the UN resolution 2216," the premier's cable read.

"I repeat my congratulations to Your Excellency wishing you success."
