Ministry of Information discusses setup of a new media corporation

RIYADH-SABA

The Ministry of Information's leadership convened in a meeting here today to discuss the Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin-Daghr's directions issued to them to carry out some formalities, including obtaining of the necessary authorizations, for the creation of a federal media corporation.

Minister Muammar al-Eryani and his deputies and senior other media officials attended the meeting. "This meeting comes pursuant to the directions and issued resolution from the Prime Minister to for a federal media corporation to be set up soon," said al-Eryani. The premier's directions are pursuant to the directions of President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi and his vice president Gen. Ali Mohsen al-Ahmer .

The minister ordered for the corporation's registration paper work to be finished and proposal to be prepared. The setup of such new organization is part of the fulfillment of the National Dialogue outcomes. The corporation will start with a newspaper and website to be issued as a first step.

The planned corporation will not be a substitute for the 14th October Media Corp, Aden national TV nor any other public media outlet.
