Vice President: We directed to tackle terrorists with iron fist

Riyadh (Saba)-Vice President Ali Muhsin Saleh has stressed that fighting terrorism is a higher priority for Yemen, pointing out that military and security services were directed to beat terrorists with iron fist, ensure security and stability and protect international peace.

In a meeting with the US Ambassador to Yemen Matthew Tuller held on Tuesday in Riyadh, Vice President highly valued the US support for the legitimate government and its rejection to Iran's interventions in the region.

He indicated that the United States exerted great efforts in providing relief to the Yemenis, including its significant contribution in a meeting held in Geneva on April 25, 2017to support Yemen.

The vice president expressed appreciation for the Arab Coalition, particularly Saudi Arabia, for its support for the legitimate government and its efforts in confronting the coup and restoration of the state.

He referred to the Iranian intervention in Yemen's affairs and its support to the Houthi-Saleh militias with different weapons, demanding the international community to put further pressures on the militias to accept the UN resolutions.

He asserted that the suffering of Yemenis worsened due to the coup, signaling out that the Yemen's political leadership seeks to integrate Yemen into the Gulf Cooperation Council.

For his part, the US Ambassador expressed appreciation for the great efforts exerted by the legitimate government to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis, reconfirming the attitudes of his

country which supports Yemen's legitimacy on the basis of the three essential terms of reference.

The meeting also discussed issues of common interests, Yemen's updates, and efforts exerted to end the coup and restore the legitimacy, touching on the aspects of cooperation and coordination between Yemen and the United States on various levels.
