Yemen has participated in the annual meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, with a delegation headed by Foreign Minister Dr. Afrah al-Zouba.

In her remarks, al-Zouba highlighted the growing economic, humanitarian, and development challenges facing Yemen and other LDCs, stressing the need for sustained international support.

She outlined the devastating impact of the Houthi takeover and ongoing conflict on Yemen’s infrastructure, public services, economy, and living conditions, noting that the country continues to face one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises.

Al-Zouba called for international assistance that goes beyond emergency humanitarian aid to include economic recovery, reconstruction, institutional support, and development. She stressed that sustainable development in Yemen requires restoring state institutions, strengthening the rule of law, and achieving security and stability.
